Where do I find info on issues or bills pending in the US Congress ?

I am searching for info for and against a bill or issue pending in the US Congress for my Intermediate Comp. class. I have to write a paper explaining why it should or shouldn't be passed.I went to the web site but did not understand how to use it. So any and all information will be helpful.
