The opening day roster will not be set until after next weekend. Sosa has been added to the 40 man roster though, and is expected to be on the final roster for opening day.

I think Sammy will get at least 400 at bats this year for Texas, primarily as the designated hitter. I expect him to hit around 25 home runs and be a .260 hitter.

By the way, the 40 man roster has not bee updated on the official website. But he is on it.

Yes he did. He made the 40 man roster and he will be on uniform on openning day!! This menas that not only he will get the half million on his contract, but he also will get as much as 2.2 mil depending on how good he does this year. So, if you are a Sammy Sosa fan like i am, start celebrating!!

I believe he did; I heard that on a Chicago radio station. I hope Sammie does well; why would anyone want someone to do poorly? Sammie can be selfish and moody, but he sure could hit a baseball! Go Sammie; go Cubs!!!!

It was announced a couple of days ago that he has made the team for the season. Later that same day, he went out and hit another homerun. He is leading the Rangers this spring in HRs, RBI, Extra base hits, and sluggin percentage.

He's on the NON-ROSTER INVITEE list.

So, no he will not start opening day.
At least not of this typing.

I hope he hits 80 home-runs
ALL IN THE MINOR LEAGUES!
so none of them will count towards his MLB total.
