hiragana--A cursive kana used for polite, informal, or casual writing.
katakana-- A relatively angular kana used for writing foreign words or official documents, such as telegrams

the difference is that katakana has letters that hiragana does not for example no-to is notebook in katakana but u can only do it in katakana not hiragana

Hiragana is soooo much easier to learn as they are pretty and katanana has a ***boxy*** feeling to it .
