OK guys, here's the deal:
Ive got two weeks off out of Iraq at the beginning of April, going back to the UK. What can ido? Ideally i dont want to travel outside the UK, so thats the limit. Oh, and im flush but im not a millionaire, plus i want to fit in loads of stuff so one hugely expensive event just isn't the answer.
Hit me!

Visit Cornwall - avoid the school holidays though. Forecast is for a warm spring, so find your way to Porthcurno beach and just breathe for a bit. You'll need it for the climb back up, but it's worth it.
South coast is for chillin', doing the coastal walking thing and taking in the scenery - If you want something more lively, head for the surfing scene on the north coast around St Ives. If you're feeling spiritual there's Tintagel and, of course, Boscastle.
Whatever else you do, head for the Blue Anchor in Helston and sample the Spingo. Watch out for the Bragget - it's stronger than it tastes!
For pasties (oggies) it has to be Anne's in Lizard village, on the Lizard peninsula.
Pop into Cadgwith on a Friday night and you should find a friendly bunch of nicely-lubricated locals, hanging from the rafters while they sing sea shanties. You can eat in the pub or there's a nice restaurant next door. You might bump into Rodney Bewes (if you need to ask, you're too young).
Whatever you do mate, I hope you enjoy it. You deserve it - and this is an ex-scaley saying that :o)
Take care - Mind your eye!

Try going on a 'garden tour' of England ... and with that go on a 'pub tour' of your own. The 'garden tour' will put you in with a bunch of 'older people' but you'll become their 'star' because you are a soldier, and you'll see lots of interesting 'flowers' plus fine houses and 'more relaxing stuff' than you would on any other tour. And the 'pub tour' will give you time with people who are more your own age, where you can 'socialize' and make some new friends. HAVE FUN whatever you do, though ... because you are stationed in Iraq and I APPRECIATE YOU DOING THAT.

Shopping, Taxes, Doctor, Dentist, Eat what ever you miss, rent a lot of videos, read all the papers you can get your hands on, and of course there is sex. With all that to do who has time for sight seeing. Go see a show if you like just to be with other people.

Circle Line pub crawl around London. Get on a train with a bunch of friends, get off at the first stop and drink a pint of ale. Get back on the train and go clockwise one stop. Repeat all 27 stops.
You WILL get drunk.

Why not hang around your family. They are probably scared to death wondering if you are still alive. Well go to a beach resort or something. But still I I think you should see your family.
