Thanks to all in advance. i have a wireless network set up with 128 wep security, i have got both pc's connected to the network, but when i connect on the machine downstairs,if i am an administrator, i can not get on to the internet , if i am on it as a restricted account, i get full access to the web, any ideas what could be wrong, i have tried everything i can think of! ARGH!!!. connects via a gateway, ip a/d by dchp, upstairs machine no prob, only downstairs one that gives this error, i have been through he settings a million times, router and wireless network!, i think it must be something stupid that i am missing somewhere along the lines! sensible answers only please!

Looks like its the internet settings on your admin account.... After logging in to the admin account are you able to get on to the network at all? i e. are you able to ping the other PC and the router? If not then its the network settings, check the auto config settings..... all the best....

Open control panel and look for network connections. You should show two one for internet gateway and the other is local area connection. you will also notice on the left a block that says set-up a home or small office network. Run that first and be sure to check the box that says you connect using the same internet connection. That by itself should fix your problem.

Sounds like to me the problem is in your router settings, contact your isp, they might can help you, or the router manufacturer can tell you how to refigure it to gain administrator access. Good luck!

some of your settings forr wireless may b wrong ring your manufactour tell them the prob and they will talk u though it bit by bit and hopefully that should work good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
