Look up the play "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged."
It's not as long as it sounds - but HYSTERICALLY funny. You can even take out parts to make it very very short or even cut it to one scene - just do the Romeo and Juliet scene.

I would say that learning lines in one day calls for a very short play or very mnemonically gifted actors. Try Noises Off as it is a simple English set play on a turntable uni-set production. It also is very repetitive so it will be easier to learn as it repeats itself often. It has more than five characters but not too many more and some could and do double in the plot.

Well that's a short rehersal. You could take a few scenes from the Complete of Shakespeare abridged. It pokes fun at shakespeare but it only involves three charcaters and the play it self is pretty lengthy. If all else fails there is always disney or Moliere.

The Importance of Being Earnest... shortish, funny, few characters. Or, yeah, part of The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged... like, just Romeo and Juliet, or Four Weddings and a Transvestite, or whatever.

That play doesn't exist.
Good luck.

Why don't you try a Dr. Seuss play or Spamalot. Don't go with a Shakespeare play, they're way to confusing to memorize in one single day.
