The Sony Ericsson k800i is a good phone to get as it has a 3.2 mga pixel camera & a flash.
I bought the phone recently & love it.

It depends which country you are from, and what you will be using the phone for. Some phones seem to be overloaded with functions (e.g taking photos) that most people don't use. However for the basic phone, in general, Nokia, Samsung, and Siemans seem good.
PS Always get a second opinion on what the sales staff say, often they don't have a clue what they are taking about. Often they are weekend staff with little training.

your best bet is to go to the shops and speak to the sales people and tell them what you want and What you need 1 for and they will find one that suits you there are that many phones out there it would be impossible for me to say
