in our first fight for freedom, it was a novelty to most, now its how many western countries govern themselves, and while the rest of the world climbed up and became better, we here in the usa seem to become stagnant. we sat quetly by as the government grew more and more, and we as citizens demand so much, not totally realized where that governemtn aid check comes from. we have freedom, sweet freedom to say and do what we want, and we it use to rage and chastise the rest of the world, then act like victims on 9/11 when the world spoke back. it was a wake up call, but no one woke up. we cant keep hitting the snooze button, too many people have died for this, and we owe it to our children. we need to change our attitudes before we can expect our society to change. now that a large percentage of the world is free, us being free is not enough. i say we start a webpage or something to get the word out. we can fix this together "bipartisan". whose with me???.

the usa has soooo so many great points...lets change the bad ones that threaten everything. we as citizens have a responsibility to do so, if we dont, then we dont really deserve the freedom. and thats really sad

No it doesn't bother me, because our new reputation is just the result of a successful propaganda campaign of the media which hopes to get the left back in power in the US. We and the countries that are right along with us in this campaign against terror are doing the right thing. I will always back "the right thing".

You are so right. Our success has made us spoiled and lazy. We're so comfortable that we have time to trade insults with each other on this site (Bush vs. Clinton. Predictable! Boring!) At the same time, many in the world would do anything for the opportunity to live in America and enjoy the freedoms and opportunities that we take for granted.

I was pleased when I read the entire question, many have forgotten that phrase "UNITED WE STAND,DIVIDED WE FALL".There are many who have distant themselves from that meaning and as you said continually complain about our country and how EVIL we are. Many of the countries that run our country down are the same who are trying to harm us.This has nothing to do with President Bush and the hatred for him,we were attacked during Clinton's watch, yet people want to believe it is because of the Universal hatred for the President.People didn't hate Clinton and we had attacks on our barracks,in our country and downing of our planes.Bottom line is the hatred for US,just our simple existence repulses others. We have to stand together in order for us to succeed in fighting all enemies, both foreign and domestic.GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I think that we need to stay strong. We will be going through another election next year and hopefully the President then will help us get back on track.
