All volume controls are on full etc. The sound lead that linked the screen to the computer (the sound comes out of the screen) has been tried in several possible slots. Neither speakers nor earphones work in any of the audio slots on the back of the CPU bit (not sure of it's proper name.) Help, please.

The sound did use to work, but now doesn't, which is very confusing. The volume is definitely not on mute.

You may have a problem with your Sound Drivers.

Click on 'Start' then 'Control Panel' now double click on 'System'.

Click on the 'Hardware' tab at the top and then 'Device Manager'.

If there is a problem with your Sound Card or Sound Drivers it should be listed here with a big yellow question mark.

Right clicking on the item listed with the question mark and selecting 'Reinstall Drivers' may sort the problem.

If not, have you considered that your speakers may be broken?
