Please don't tell me I will regret it. I am getting 3 small hearts on my right foot. One for each of my beautiful children. I am doing it to remind me of them so there will be no regrets. Plus I have wanted to do it for 5 years now! I have waited in case I changed my mind. I haven't yet, so I am doing it!

Forget the people that say you'll regret getting a tattoo. I have 7 the largest covering 45% of my back and to be honest with you I have always tipped my tattoo artist. It depends on how fast they get it done, How much pain they put you through, and how well the art work looks. And if he is willing to give you a warranty with it that covers pigment loss and areas that look faded. My tattoo artist always tells me or any time I see him to come by so he can check on my tattoo's to make sure they have no fading or pigments loss. He still checks on the one he did 6 years ago and has touched it up for free for me. I typically tip him $20 for every $100 spend on a tattoo.

I have 5 tattoos and I always tip.. 3 of mine cost between $180 and $220 and I have $50 for those 3. My 2 smaller ones I tipped $20. I don't think a lot of people tip their tattoo artists though because even though I go to the same guy every time he seems shocked and always asks if I'm sure about my tip. Just use your judgment if you want to tip. It's completely up to you.

My daughter and I, and my god-daughter and her mom got tattos a few summers sgo,I designed my own, it was personnal-a Peanut lady with SMUCH A across the front- I called Nicole "Peanut "from the dsy she was born, and SMUCH is our code for I Love You so Much. The tattoo artist made a few small changes and it turned out fantastic, I tipped her $25.00 to which responded"I was just doing my job." To me she went above and beyond the call of duty.
If you are satisfied with the tat, tip well.

If you think the Artist has done a good job and you want to give the Artist something extra then by all means do it. Just make sure the shop is a clean place with a good reputation. Best wishes. =)

Tipping a tattoo artist is normally not expected. But if you feel they did more to make you comfortable, put you at ease and did excellent work, I'm sure they would appreciate it. I have enough visible scars ....I don't want or need a tattoo.

I think you can tip anyone that is rendering a service to you. I think I would only tip if I really liked the work. I didn't tip when I got my tats. They were expensive enough.

No, I don't. They already charge an arm and a leg.
You can always call the place anonymously before you go in and ask them what is the etiquette on tipping, just so that you don't look foolish.

if you're happy with the ink, I definately would tip..it's a lot of work and heart involved there, and unless it's their own shop they don't make much money.....
