i think i prefer lead guitar.
because its more cool while bass guitar only provide the background music.
But bass guitar is important too..
so its ur choice.
if u prefer to play when not so much ppl hav attention with u, then choose bass.
if u want more attention, choose lead guitar.

Absolutely. First of all a 4 string bass only has 4 strings to worry about, while a guitar as 6 or even 12. Secondly, it's a known fact that lead guitar players have small penuses.

Btw,its bass!! Bass always needs an accompaniment. But then there are lots of music genres in which bass is effectively used like all kinds of trance music and even some forms of jazz.Trance music doesnt actually use the bass guitar-rather they are electronically generated bass rhythms. In jazz, bass is much more audible than in rock music,so this gives jazz that different feel. But if you consider country, rock or any form of metal, lead guitar is much more better sounding....though it is ineffective without a bass. The conclusion is that both bass and lead guitar go hand in hand!!

i think bass is great, but you kinda need another instrument being played alongside, like guitar.
have you ever heard a song with JUST bass?
but you probably have heard a song with JUST guitar.
