as far as predictions I can't even guess. With technology these days I am sure we will all be asking "who would have thought...." again and again

I find 'Star Trek' to be a great vision of what will happen in the future.

Say what you will about the "geek factor" of the show, but Star Trek has already brought about revolutionary changes.

The thing that appeals to me most about Star Trek's world is the fact that people are no longer doing things for individual monetary gain. Everyone works for the betterment of the human race. I know that's not a realistic goal...there will always be people that would exploit such a system for their own personal gain (in fact, there were even those in Star Trek that did that), but its a noble goal nevertheless.

In the future, I think we'll see people living and working in places they aren't now...under the sea, out in space, perhaps on the moon.

I think we'll see the consolidation of power in the world, but I doubt we'll ever see a one-world government.

I think that America will become even more godless (this is not a judgment...merely a prediction) and that ultimately, America's demise will come from within, not from without.

I hope I'm not alive to see that happen. I love America, and despite its faults I think it's the greatest place on earth to live. That's not being overly-patriotic, but rather being appreciative of the many opportunities I've been afforded because I was born in -- and live in -- the United States.

There are still tribes of people who do not communicate via phone or post/mail.

I personally thought by the year 2007, back in 1977, when I was 7 years old, that our world would look more like the Jetsons. I must say that I am highly disappointed: I wanted a space buggy that converts into a briefcase.

Prediction for the future: Optimistically, that the middle east rise to the occasion and settle their problems amongst themselves with a resolution to compromise and have peace there.

Optimistically, the United States would be able to bow out of Iraq while simultaneously finding and holding accountable Bin Laden.

In all seriousness, that the world look to make it their business, and I do mean business to manage the climate by exercising restraint in using fossil fuels, and slowly leave them behind, while embracing clean technologies.

With all hopefulness, that the globe find ways to end poverty and disease.

Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me.
--not just a song, a resolution.

Just told:get dinner started get cooking:you just shut the blinds, didn't you:
Well I find it quit normal talking to people from around the world:they did not call it for nothing:www world wide web.
And technology gets better by the day,so what's next? They could improve the sound you receive on messenger calls though:often it breaks up,or there is a delay of 4 seconds:you hear yourself say, what you just said:way weird.
I see that changing in better systems too.
Sky.

Yes, it has been evolving for a great number of years. Today's communications industry has provided to the masses an easier, quicker, and more affordable service for everyone. We will see a lot of changes involving media (ie TV) merging with other technologies such as PC's. We will see where the USER has greater control of content and can actually customize their pages in a wide variety of available options.

Actually, I predicted that about 20 years ago.

For the future, you're cell phone is going to serve as your laptop, with printing capabilities and all. Very few people will have "home" phones.

No. I am English, live in Slovakia with a Korean person. Do it everyday!
I do see your point though, it is truly amazing that we can communicate with people on the other side of the world in an instant.

PS Where do you come from?

i predict that once a cure for aids/HIV, cancer and parkinson's disease has been found, hopefully they will be made avaliable and affordable to many people over the counter in our pharmacist and chemists, around the world. that would be great. i also predict that people will live longer and healthier lives and that people will not be smoking, drinking and eating as excessively as they are doing at the moment and rather we will have more fit and healthy people

I don't know about anyone else but i've had a phone for years and you can use it standing or sitting.

Maybe they'll catch on everyone will get one and we can talk to people all over the world!
