Ipod shuffle isnt recognised on my computer, already have itunes installed for ipod video - any ideas?

have an ipod video and latest itunes which is working fine, however just tried to use a shuffle with it and it isnt recognising it - tried just plugging it in without software as presumed itunes would pick it up - it didnt and now the computer isnt even picking it up as a device - have tried loading software specifically for shuffle but still nothing. have had the shuffle working in the past but removed software when we got the ipod video. would now like to use shuffle as well - any idea whats going wrong? thanks in advance

i had the same problem

i bought and returned an ipod shuffle three times because my brand new computer didn't recognise it.

And i'm even more sure its all of the ipod shuffles are malfunctioned

because the place where i bought it put a notice saying no refunds for ipod shuffles

because too many people where returning it

so just go to watch dog on bbc.

ALSO

if anyone tells you any differnet, update the question to ask how many have the ipod shuffle, the origanal rectanglauar one

Uninstall the old copy of iTunes. Make a new one and upload the shuffle software for it. Now you could probably make 2 copies of iTunes and have one set up for iPod video and the other the shuffle. Make sure to name them so you don't forget.

Are you having problems with Vista? There should be some forums out there helping with this problem... Perhaps you'd need to update your drivers?
