Almost always 20 percent. Less if the service is bad. More if the service is outstanding. I just gave my hairdresser a 50% tip because I had just gotten a bonus at work, she had done a great job and the bill was much less than I expected. I like to do that once in a while, to spread the wealth and make someone's day.

I've been going to the same "hair" person for about ten years, and I've only given her a tip a few times, like near a holiday, or her birthday.
At restaurants, if the service is bad, they get no tip. If the service is good, they get what I can afford. If the service is exceptional, they get what I can afford, and a pat on the back from me to the manager on duty. I'm not a person who has extra money, and I don't believe in the "percentage rule" that society has placed on tipping. Personally, I feel that tipping should be outlawed. That is that person's job, and they get paid to do it. It's not MY fault, that this type of job pays below poverty level, and people in the service industry have accepted this payment. And, yes, I know that I am a minority on this issue, and people scream and cuss every time I say it, but I stand steadfast behind what I believe.

You're supposed to tip 20% but if the service just isn't there, i will only tip 10% and if the service is exceptional, i have tipped as much as 40%.
$5-10 for the haircut depending on how much I had done.

If the service in the restaurant was alright 15% of the bill, if great than 20% of the billl. If horrible, I might leave a dollar, but sometimes nothing. I feel that I work hard enough for my money, and so should them.
The haircut depends. If I go to like Supercuts maybe like $3-$4 dollars.... If I go to my normal salon, at least $20. But I love my hair stylist, plus it depends alot on what she does and what I have done. And since I do tip well, she tends to cut prices for me and the family.
Have a great day!
