Destroy Americas economy, allowed 100,000 soldiers to live the rest of their lives maimed and disabled not to mention the ones that have died. Bush has given Halliburton billions along with Exxon Mobil for record profits and he has cut education funding and created the most poverty America has seen since the Great Depression. Good Job George!!!

Well, first of all, I'm not a Bush apologist. There are a lot of issues that I disagree with him on, such as immigration and the prosecution of the war. But I'm not going to be a Bush basher either, although it may be the popular thing to do.

The economy. Were you alive on 9/11/01? Do you remember how you felt? Do you remember what happened in the aftermath? By some estimates, our economy took a trillion dollar hit from that cowardly attack. It took another hit from the dot-com bust. But look at our economy now. Despite not wanting to hear it, the unemployment rate under Bush has been lower than the average of any of the last four decades. And you're just dead wrong about wages too. According to the latest government data, wages, corrected for inflation, have never been higher. The stock market has never been higher. Home ownership has never been higher. You talk about jobs that leave the US, but not about jobs that come to the US from abroad, such as Toyota building a new plant in Mississippi. It's really quite remarkable that our economy is in such good condition considering what happened. Our economy is, in fact, still the best and the largest in the world, by far, and you can chalk that up to Bush's tax cuts and deregulation.

Defense. Do I need to mention that we haven't been attacked since 9/11? Do you think the nuts are trying? I can guarantee you that they are. Yet Bush doesn't seem to get any credit for that. Do you suppose it's just luck? I don't think so. Just think for a minute about what Bush inherited. Terrorists attacked two of our embassies in Africa (US soil), attacked and killed members of our military three times (USS Cole, Darfur, Somalia), attacked the World Trade Center, and what was the sitting presidents reaction? "A little to the left there Monica". He allowed an emboldened bin laden and his cadre to sit in Afghanistan and hatch the plot for 9/11. The best he could muster was a few cruise missiles at empty compounds or the bombing of an aspirin factory.Clinton also, in essence, gave a nuke to the North Koreans. Then sometime around the middle of January, 2001, said "Here you go George, it's all yours". Thanks alot, Bill Well, by sticking to his plan, Bush seems (and I do say "SEEMS") to have persuaded the NK to abandon their nuclear program.. As for the war in Iraq, the idea was good, the prosecution not so good. But really, how can you blame Bush for how the war was fought? He's not a military planner. He has to rely on his generals, just like every other president before him. I suggest that maybe you should read some of the things said about FDR during WWII. War is not a science. Mistakes are always made, but given time, I still think the outcome in Iraq will be positive.

There are certainly other things that could be mentioned, such as "no child left behind", tort reform etc..

The point is this. Bush is not as good as we would like, nor as bad as you would like to portray him. Just like any president, he has to play with the hand he was dealt, and, when you take every thing into consideration, I think he's done more than a decent job.

The economy is great. Unemployment is high. Interest rates are low. Stock Market is up. Why is it so many of you condescending open minded Liberals rag on McDonald's all the time. They are one of the largest employers of young people in America. Great place to start learning a work ethic!

job out-sourcing has BEEN GOING ON LONG BEFORE MR. BUSH BECAME PRESIDENT! Ergo: you cannot blame him for that!
Our President has made difficult decisions but stayed his course when in the midst of all this hate for him. To me that makes him one honorable, brave President!

He has done a spectacular job of showcasing the evil that is the neo-conservative movement. Just look at how quickly these people are resigning from scandal and being indicted. It's like Washington D.C. was a tumor of corruption.
