My grandfather died when I was 4. I have a very specific memory of standing in the kitchen and my mom getting the call. I talked to her about it a few years ago and she said she got the call after we had all gone to bed in her bedroom. It's strange because I remember it so well, everything from which phone to the expression on her face. I don't remember much from that age but that memory has never shaken.

Yea! And I think I know why. I have vivid dreams that seem real. When I was about 4-8 years old I would actually think they were real. I still have memories that never happened. what would happen is a real event would happen and I would dream it differently and I would remember the dream in my long term memory not the actual event. And then I would just dream and remember that as a real event or memory. But I'm over that now. It just happened when I was a kid, and even then just once in awhile.

Yes - which is very interesting in the context of all the fuss about 'recovered memories' and child abuse. Mostly the ones that I know to be false are in fact an amalgam of two or three other memories: for example, I used to remember the layout of my grandmother's house in a way that actually was the layout of a totally different house that we used to visit. (Actually I'm not quite sure whether that's the question you're asking, but if it was I hope my answer's useful).

I think why you're young, you often mix up dreams and reality. I remember seeing a monster with a glowing eye (just one---on a stalk!) staring in my window. I could have sworn I was not asleep and that it really happened, but, of course, it didnt'. It was just a dream.

i distinctly remember falling down the stairs and hitting my head in the wall, blood was oozing down from a wound in my right eyebrow. my mom and dad was comforting me as they tend my wound and i can hear the telly in the background. i asked my mom about it but she said i couldn't have remembered it, i was barely 2 years old at the time

well, my cousin once told me that when she was seven, her parents left her alone with her 11 year old brother. they were in their room when this guy glowing and in a yellow cap came in, looked around and left, which sounds funny, and it could be a dream, but they both remember it
except when they chased after him, he disappeared, go figure.
