Have 25+ years exploring natural caverns with organized groups (think of it as rock climbing after sunset), 16 years more of caving by myself, at the edge of the speleological envelope. Usually carry 24 hours of artificial lighting and plan to exit after 12. Enjoy nearby limestone topography.
Ride street legal dirt motorcycle from seaside into alpine snows year around usually looking for new caves. Hope to purchase '06 Ural Gear-Up model for expanded travels. Have 22K+ miles on the '87 Yamaha. Longest trip distance was equal from San Francisco to Salt Lake City and back but not counting miles off-road following bed of Rogue River.
Ocean kayaking with touring single 15' Necky, camping on
various islands, year around since '91. Have used smaller hulls in speleological adventures east of the Mississippi
River and most recently in old lava flow of Mt. St Helens.
Carve big bulging eyeballs into granite boulders sea side each winter when I can't go boating or caving. Use 2 pound hammer and various steel chisels. Rubbings of brick and/or
other softer beach stones color my works. Weird, huh?
