iv just answered a question here and its got me wondering what my dream really means.

atleast twice a week i dream that im standing alone at a bus stop and a large group of guys turn the corner and attack me. they punch, kick and stamp on me for what seem like forever and then suddenly stop, walk away leaving me in a total mess. i can see them walking away slowly, the dream goes kinda blank and i wake up. its not so much a nightmare as im used to it now but i used to wake up in a cold sweat, i also get a bit of dejavu from it every so often.
i have been attacked at a bus stop before but it wasnt nearly as bad and i wasnt badly shaken up from it.
im from Glasgow which can be a bit of a rough city if that makes any kind of difference
any ideas folks??

Like all citizens of the UK, you have recently been stripped of your individual right to keep and bear arms and therefore have lost you ability to defend yourself against violent criminals.

Your dream clearly relates to this loss of what should have been an unalienable right, and illustrates the result of the loss of this right, namely a society dominated by criminals who have no reason to fear that their victims might possess the ability to defend themselves.

The reason you constantly gettin such a dream is b'coz in ya subconcious mind you keep on thinking of the same stuff of been attacked. Dreams are nothing but the desire or fear that is saved in the subconcious mind, it wakes up only wen ya Brain is at rest.
Both the Brain & Subconcious mind can be active at the same time so wen ya brain rests the subconcious mind takes over the duty of the Brain and makes you actually imagine ya desire or fear or for a object or a person whom you loved.
Don worry about the dreams. You are great if anybody attacks fight back, YOU GOT THE CALIBER IN YOU... :-)

The problem with you is your unfornuate experience which is bothering you from my point of view. You are afraid of that very incident. To overcome such a feeling do exactly what i say. Go to that very same place where it happened, in the say was get off the bus and then the walk past that corner. I know it may feel wrong but when you go there and nothing happens your mind will really relieve you from such anxiety. Then your mind will feel safe again. Only do this if you know the last experience was just a one off. Please let me know if what happens. I know you will feel absolutely wonderful after it. Godd Luck!

It sounds to me as though ur sub conscience is replaying the event to see what could have been done differantly. You can control your dreams but this takes time and practice. You haft to remember while you are going to sleep that you are in control of your dreams and what happens. When you are able to do this then in your dream you could be in a differant spot, take all the attackers on and win, have a baseball bat, or the bus just happens to come as they are getting near. I don't know if this information will be of any help but it may be worth a shot. Just remember nothing will happen in your dreams that you don't want to happen. Best of luck!

this is a combination of these possible elements:
-you are not really over this attack yet
-you have not faced what exactly this attack means so your mind is trying to face it while you conscience is 'off'
-your confidence has been (understandably) shaken by it

please remember does not matter how long ago this has happened.
try to deal with it - if you do not like talking to a therapist write it down in a letter - try to get it out of your system.

i think being attacked in the past has bothered you more than you realise. Although you may not have been as badly attacked in real life as you are in your dream i think the shock has stayed with you. you could try reading up on the link.

It just sounds like you are scared of it happening again, but worse. Because you keep having it, it is something that is really bothering you. Maybe you should go out and face your fears!

sounds like you have repressed your fear. as a defense mechanism we push certain thoughts and events into the deep subconscious and occasionally these thoughts creep out into the conscious mind during dreams. that's why hypnosis is effective in retrieving memories and past events.

I still dream about my abuse, the abuse dramatized me, I think its just natural to dream about tramatic events in your life, in your dreams. You were in fear when they happened an that fear is carried into your dream life, somtimes we never get over that stuff.
