Gosh, maybe it's because we had never heard of these conspiracies!! Heck, now that I KNOW that our government is responsible for BOTH World Trade Center attacks, I'll go do something about it! CIA and NSA spying on Americans? You're kidding! And we are all letting them get away with it!

Yes, this is a large country and what little you see from your perspective doesn't tell you very much about what the citizens here are doing about what you listed. Don't forget, your media is biased, too.

Whoa! Some of your examples were not acts of terrorism by our government. We don't live in a police state-even though we do have law enforcement, we did not bomb our own buildings in 9/11, nor WTC. As for the rest, We were lied to by our own president concerning Iraq, and like every other country, we have our spy system.
I agree that several agencies have taken steps that are way out of line lately, like arresting folks for just speaking their minds about certain stuff. but our own government (elected) is behind it all. A new election is on the horizon soon.
American-in general- just want to live their lives in peace and hope the rest of the world can too. We are told something by our government and we believed them and that awakes a Tiger within us. To fight back.
Terrorism comes in all forms-small & large and no country or people is without it.
