im doing aat nvq. as far as i know it is prefered over diploma because an nvq course is desgned to train you for the office. it was brought about by employers who felt that student didnt have the necessary qualities (eg communication skills, H&S awareness) and they had to spend money to train them. you should bear in mind that it is better if you have a work placement whilst studying AAT as employers tend to prefer people nvq or not with at least 6-12 months experience.

i dont know about diploma but have you tried the aat website for more info.

The AAT diploma is not work based and therefore does not require work based evidence as part of the course. The NVQ is work based. and so you would have to provide examples of various activities you have carried out at work in order to complete the course.

If you are employed then the NVQ would be the better course. It helps to be able to apply what you're learning to the work that you are doing. If not, the the diploma would be the best way to go.

diploma`s r best. a few years ago i did nvq in electrical as an electrician.after 2 years i was told i could get a job as electrician but the dole office told me i could only do that abroad with nvq.so i went to college for 2 more years.when that was over i became ill and have been on sick ever since.but nvq`s r only good on paper.
