It depends on the type of fish, I have an African Malawi Tank and they take roughly 3-4 weeks, but the mother will keep the fry in her mouth as long as she can before spitting them out, so as to give them the best chance as the other fish will eat the babies if seen!

it usually depends on the fish and if the eggs are in a separater tank so other fish wont eat them! Most fish eggs take around 28 days to hatch

very rare to see eggs from scatterers....usually too small or eaten too quick.
are you asking about a certain type of fish or is it a general question?
