When a graphics card says PCI does it mean it can go in any PCI slot even the ones that can be used for other things like PCI modems?

Hi yes PCI card can fit into any PCI slot.. just because its a PCI it does not mean its useless like was mentioned in one of the answers..there are lots of cards out there that would knock the ?hit out of PCI express cards still so dont be disappointed if that's all you have.. I'm using windows Vista with a 256meg ATI Radion PCI express card but in my win xp machine I'm using a 256 ATI Radion PCI card and unless your a gaming geek you wont notice any difference..By the way for all you people that might say the card I'm using is prap and slow dont worry about it i dont need a bigger one...I'm intersted in programming not games ...anyway i hope this helps....Steve...

As long as you mean a PCI and not a PCI-E card then yes it will work in any slot.

That's the old type I think ... the one now is the PCI express ... the one before it was AGP .. and before that was the PCI for graphic cards ... so I think it might be old to be PCI

That's correct, any PCI slot will do fine.
But PCI graphic cards are very outdated and almost useless.
