The US is the world's biggest financial aid contributor, as we know it. However, over 1/3 of this aid goes to Israel, a country that is considered rich and technologically advanced.

Why isn't this money used to really fight poverty?

It is a scandal really. Something that we should stop but that we will never stop because of the economic interests and the Jewish lobbies.

When we see the US as the biggest contributor to the world aid programs, we never stop to think that the numbers may have some bias. An indeed they have. If the US gives $1 to Israel every time $3 dollars are given in monetary aid, then only $2 are actually free for the real combat of poverty (assuming that no other similar cases exist in a smaller case)

There are billions of people getting less financial help than a country with 7 million people with a high GDP even before the US financial aid. Even more, there are countries with more population than Israel that do not have a GDP equal to the US financial aid to Israel. Outrageous!

Why this aid? Well, there are several reasons for this but let me just point the main ones so that you have a picture

Israel was created after a political movement (Zionism) and its current location was one of several possible locations (for those of you claiming Israel was the land of the Jews when dinosaurs ruled the earth, I recommend you look at Zimbabwe and judge the land redistribution). However, and even though some Jewish scholars believe the promised land will only be to the Jews when the Messiah arrives, the promised land was put in the middle of a civilization that hated the Jews with the help of the US and the then imperial powers, mainly England and France to an extent. This is one of the first reasons, as the west feels responsible for supporting a decision that has brought so many problems to the region and to the world.

The Middle East has the world’s largest oil and gas reserves, so the US needs a base in the region to defend its economic interests

The financial aid provided, and don’t forget this is the taxpayer’s money, is mainly used to buy back weapons from the US military, and therefore the US is indirectly subsidizing the industry that otherwise would be unlawful for breach of WTO regulations.

Now tell me, anti-Semitism aside, is this fair to the US taxpayer? Is it fair that after adjusting for inequalities the majority of US citizens have a lower standard of living than Israelis because they receive the US aid? (Read the taxpayer’s money). Now imagine you are living in the Middle East and you don’t live in Israel. How would you fell about it? How would you fell about Americans that are unable to rebel and prevent their money from reaching a government that commits acts of terrorism against people that don’t even have money for food?

because of the lobbyist and America is in Israel's pocket. Our government wants to keep problems in the Middle East so Israel is America's watchdog.

The U.S. gives $15,139,178 per day to the Israeli government and military. So if fact America is funding terrorism

Israel has been targeted by at least 65 UN resolutions and the Palestinians have been targeted by none.

seems Israel can do all the wrong she wants ans NO ONE will punish her.... Such a sad state of affairs

Most people in this country think that poverty is not having 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a 2 car garage, trophy wife, 2.5 children, 4 weeks of vacation a year and all the money to support that and an extravagant extracurricular lifestyle.
Truth is that most people in the Middle East that are considered "well to do" are worse off than 90% of what our glorious left-wing politicians have told us are impoverished.
Until you have walked a mile in their shoes you should keep your rhetoric to things you know about and not just things you are regurgitating from your lefty heroes.

theres only one reason really. despite what American history books may say. they want to keep a base in the middle east where the oil is. and their happy to let war continue, lets face it if the middle east were at peace all those guys would get together and increase the price of oil to the west and blackmail them i doubt the USA will let that one happen

It's mostly a hangover from the Cold War. During the Cold War, Israel's neighbors received money and arms from the Soviet Union; Israel was (and is) a US-ally and was seen as a bulwark to the threat of Soviet dominance of the Middle East.

1) Serves America's interests
2) ROI (that's return on investment)

And for those fools who think that giving money to Israel does not serve its interests then they should ask why America gives over $1 billion annually to Egypt (their second largest beneficiary) when Egypt is a) not a democracy b) more anti American when compared to Israel.
Another thing to consider is that Egypt is more at risk of being taken over by Islamists and becoming a genuine enemy of the US compared to Israel where such a risk is low. Yet do not expect anyone who is allegedly worried about spending on Israel to ask such reasonable questions regarding Egypt. That is because their primary objective is not to question the wisdom of foreign aid and how it is spent but yet another exercise in bashing Israel which they dislike.

It's not money. It's firearms. And it's used to mainly kill innocent folks in the middle-east, and only some bad guys in their eyes.

Because the Israelis fight the Islam fascists and as the gutless politicians won't help them materially they do it financially.
