If you want to add a AGP card and you have onboard graphics on your MB...you need to go into your BIOS...after you install the video card, and you restart your puter...your BIOS will show and as soon as you see the BIOS screen, press the appropriate key, ie: F2, F1 or whatever key your BIOS needs to access the menu...you will see the key needed when you scope the BIOS info at startup...once in the BIOS screen...go to graphics and there you can disable the onboard graphics...then save this setting and restart...your puter will boot into Windows and from the device manager you can load thdrivers or through your card's software!

Most motherboards (Not All) use the "Delete" key at start up to enter the Bios, Yours may be different, once there look for
"Intergrated Peripherials"or "Onboard Peripherials"
then disable onboard graphics. There may also be a setting in "PNP/PCI Configuration" for what kind of graphics card either PCI or AGP set this to match the card you are installing. then save and exit.

Normally this can be done by entering your PC's BIOS & choosing that option.
On some older mainboards it is done via a jumper setting.
Others will even automatically disable the onboard adapter as soon as another one is installed.

Please consult your PC manufacturer's website for details on which method is used on your model PC or mainboard.

To identify your mainboard you can use this free tool.
It will tell you the make & model :
