What should be the first order of business for the next president?

If you were the next president, what would be your 1st and 2nd order of business, given our failed international policy and domestic issues?

Please respond only if your answer is of a serious nature... answers like the first one are annoying, childish, immature and waste other's time.

I would dissolve the patriot act.

I would dissolve the CIA by arresting all the employees.

I would de-classify all information and make it availiable to the public.

After picking out new drapes for the Oval Office I would impose sanctions on all the countries which aided Terrorists and maybe even go a little farther than sanctions with Iran and Pakistan. Next I would step up recruitment for volunteers for the military to fight terror. The next is most important - and that is to create a dialog with the good Muslims who are probably the only ones that could convince the Islamic terrorist that they are incredibly wrong in their actions. Some work is already being done in that regard and we should see more evidence of that work starting in June 07.

1st I would demand that congress amend the constitution by elimination of Electoral college. This would give the constitution written for the people by the people more power by giving the vote to the people.
2nd I would work to protect the people of the U.S. in several ways. To make sure 9/11 never happens again, to stop every company in the U.S. from running out of the U.S., to demand to protection of U.S. workers by demanding stricter laws on Illegals and those that employ them.

First two - 1) Call for a Constitutional Convention, with priority to change issues our firmly entrenched major political parties refuse to address - Repeal the 16th Amendment; repeal the Patriot Act; insert the word 'expressly' between 'not' and 'delegated' in the 10th Amendment, provide for line-item veto for the President, reword the Commerce Clause to expressly define federal power as regulating commerce "between" the States.

2) Pardon all individuals in federal prisons convicted solely for possession of marijuana. (no pardons for those convicted of distributing or intent to distribute).

Well I have a little more than 2, but...
World peace and to stop world hunger. Everyone even poor people get nice houses. No upper, lower, middle classes. Everyone treated equal. Let the illegal people stay let them get jobs we'll have more people in the US and they can take the jobs some other people don't want. But they should get the same rights as everyone else (they are humans too).

1.) Homeland first! Take care of our domestic needs first, that will build the support of the people for when you want to try to implement a international policy.

2.) Rebuilding trust with our allies and working with them to improve intelligence gathering and understanding. So if needed we might actually be able to form a coalition again to confront a threat.
