Malathion, is a good one since malathon has been banned. Terrizide is another effective insecticide, for crawling insects. For about 14 buck per bag at your local Lowes.

Find out what kind of bugs you have before you spray! Most of the insects in your yard are good. The few that are bad will have their own management techniques. If you try to kill off every bug, all you will have left are the worst one, no birds, and you'll give your dog cancer.

Google "integrated pest management" and the name of your state, for ways to use the good bugs against the bad bugs.

Bifenthrin is good. It depends on what you want to kill and where you are living. Go to the local Lesco or pest control company and ask them.
