The A.L. West throws Oakland in the playoffs every year to get whipped on in round 1. Texas is always a non-factor. Anaheim is nothing superb. Seattle is a joke. Now take the East...The Yankees have the most serious starting pitching issues they have been faced with in 12 years...nobody in that rotation scaes anyone. Same with Boston. Toronto may surprise alot of teams this year...D-Rays should be exported. With that said...The American Legue Central is without a doubt the most dominating division in MLB. Twins starting pitching is questionable...Indians bullpen, even improved as it is,is questionable... Chicago and Detroit seem to be two teams that you don't know what you will get from--Detroit has pressure of repeating-Chicago has age-and starting pitching issues. But at days end they all still stand out from threst of the league--Thome,Hafner,Mauer,Vic Martinez,Ivan Rodriguez,Sheffield,Konerko,Sizemore,Buerhle,Sabathia-just to name a few -can the east or West compete with these teams

Funny way of putting it - red headed stepchild...lol

but seriously, i see your point in that the AL Central is definitely the toughest division to play in since they have the most solid teams from top to bottom - but you can never discount teams like the Red Sox, Yanks, and Angels... they all have solid rosters as is and you know that without a doubt they will add to this during the season through trades... so although the other divisions are not as strong on the whole, the top teams from those division will certainly contend with the AL Central no matter what it takes... plus - look at what happened in the NL playoffs last year... no one expected anything from the Cards and they ended up winning the world series... anything can happen come playoff time - the teams just have to get there...

It's a two edged sword. The Red Sox, Yankees and Blue Jays are likely to be tough in the East. The Athletics and Angels are likely to be tough in the West. If the White Sox, Twins, Tigers and Indians are competitive in the Central, then the Wild Card is unlikely to come from the Central. The competition will force the winning record and the record of the second place team in the Central downward as four evenly matched teams go 10-9 against each other. The Angels and Athletics presumably would have the Rangers and Mariners to beat up on. It's all very theoretical, but that could point to a West Division wild card team.

First I agree that the AL Central has some very good teams. One of them is my team the Twins. Like you say the top four teams have great talent and KC is also got a few good young players.

However I am not sure if the central will get the wild card. As you said up above. Every Team seams to have some holes in their team. Every team should also be able to win their share of games. Detroit faded after their hot start last year. Twins pitching isn't what it was a year ago. The White Soxes are aging and pitching is down a little.Clevland has yet to live up to it talent. KC won some series from the Twins and the Tigers down the streach. So if we all beat up on each other equally I could see the divison winner having only ninty wins.

I hope this doesn't happen because the West and the East are weak but it is a possiblity that one of their teams could end up in the World Series.

Yes your right here. The AL Central has 4 competing teams in the chase for the division, the AL west 2 the East maybe 3.I can't see Boston really competing this year because there staff isn't that good(overrated staff). The Blue Jays can compete but the Yankees always seem to pull it out in the end.The AL west is between the Angles and A's who knows who will pull that out.

Ellsbury is a rookie...Pedroia is in his 2d 3 hundred and sixty 5 days...and Lowrie is a rookie also. He replaced into in simple terms called up very last month. And tampa will win the wild card and get knocked out first round with assistance from the angels.

I think that it will be the other way around.
