A whale is a mammal and a penguin is a bird.
Whales give birth and penguins lay eggs.
Perhaps you should practice with a chicken first.

No the genetic material from a whale and flightless bird would not be simular enough. even during some from of artificial insemination this would not be possible. see, i blame TV for stuff like that, inter-species breeding is rare, and if at all possible, the species are either decedent from the same line, or so simular then it would not be that weird.

I've tried both, the whale paid no attention and the penguin just would not warm up.

I'd hate to watch the act (unless the penguin was the male).

Only in fiction books and mythology...you'll learn more about that when you take biology in school (hopefully).
