If you have seen the comedy series Ugly Betty, do you think the character Betty in it is ugly?

The way she is always pleasant & smiling, modest & polite to all, how can she appear to be ugly? On the other hand, if a beautiful girl is always surly, rude, sulky, & complaining about everything & everyone, I would think of her as ugly.

No, I love Ugly Betty, and it will be good to see something on the show that is truly ugly. I may pop out to the kitchen to make a cuppa when she is on though. i watched five minutes of that Posh in LA thing, only because I'm always coating her and I actually know nothing about her, so I thought I would see what she is made of, but even her voice annoyed me so much I switched over and watched paint dry, or something else more interesting. Can't wait to see Betty again though.

the character inside of Ugly Betty is America Ferrera...and if she changed her clothes and took well care of her hair..she would be pretty

Physically no, because take away the glasses, the braces and pluck those eyebrows and there's actually a pretty girl behind all that. (Although some of the actresses playing the international counterparts are less pretty)!
Mentally she's beautiful.

Not at all. They have just done as much to her as they could to make her look unattractive, but she's still a good looking girl. It means when I'm watching it I'm always waiting for someone to finally give her a makeover so she becomes really stunning!

Ugly - no. Just someone plain looking who is beautiful inside.They can't pick someone who's ugly cuz they want the tv audience to fall in love with her.

The mistake they made is picking someone who is obviously pretty and trying to look ugly. Which is a bit distracting.

I just think she has a bad fashion sense and hair cut oh and the braces too they don't suit her. I have seen pics of her normal and she is quite pretty

No, they picked someone who was pretty and made her ugly probably so they couldnt pick someone ugly and make that person offended.
