Looks like the new strategy (i.e. troop surge) is showing more and more progress. The latest poll shows some optimism: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/iraq/article1530762.ece

Yes, there is progress being made. A lot. However, its very unpopular for the media to report anything that might show that there is good coming from the war.

Things are definitely better than they were a few years ago. They have a long way to go, but they are headed in the right direction.

Of course we are. We have been making progress all along. Just ask the people that have been there, they will tell you the same. The liberal media does not want the American public to hear that though because it only slows down their destruction of America. This would mean having to tell both sides of a story. Liberals are poll whores in general, except for when it is positive news for the Country, or doesn't undermine the Bush Administration.

We have been making progress in Iraq all along. I e-mailed the major news networks in America asking them why all they reported was the killings of Americans in Iraq and not about the progress we were making. The only one to respond was Fox, their news director said "People don't care about a school being built in Iraq, they want to know when their sons and daughters are being killed." We have been making progress all along, you just won't hear about it from anyone but returning troops.

we won the war.

we now play the role of an occupying force in a new democracy on the brink of civil war. a war which could make what was just accomplished all go away without support. an occupying force eventually brings resentment. we still have no exit plan for our troops.

so, good for the iraqi people!

what's next for US of A? that's my interest.

Regardless of any poll...the real value of freedom is that it is fought for and earned. If the Iraqi people wanted freedom than they should toppled their own dictator.

Pretty funny, the times (UK) is very anti Bush, so when it prints a pro US piece notice how the left immediately discounts it, but when it is anti Bush it's gospel and the bastion of journalism....

Loon. It's temporary. Did you know that under Saddam Iraq was a health tourist desitination for the whole Middle East as its health system was excellent and it's universities were considered among the best in the region? How many Sunni professionals will be able to work as engineers or such under the new Shiite government?

How many of you frickin' morons don't understand the concept of Al-Qaeda and Saddam not being at all related and NOT INVADING A SOVERIGN NATION ILLEGALLY IN THE FUKKING FIRST PLACE?
You must all be as simple-minded as George the Fool Bush. I weep for America's future.
