the landlord won't re-do my back yard as he dosen't see it as a priority, i'm just wondering if the dust is actually harful to the health of my family. The yard is always covered in dust and i can't sweep it away as it doesn't seem to help apart from making me cough, i also have a drain that my toilet actually feeds into which isnot covered, the hole is about a ft round and just under a foot and a half deep. my children are 8,6 and 2 i'm also wondering if these are grounds to ensure that i get all of my bond money back? as i'm wanting to move out as the repair to the drain was promised to be done within 4weeks on me moving into, my yr contract runs out on the 9th of april,i'm still waiting, so you can do the maths lol

any advice would be grately appreciated cheers xx

If the concrete is dry, it should not actually be concrete dust. Just normal dust from the surrounding area you live in. Wetting it down will help control it from being airborne. The pipe that is catching human waste is a health hazard. The size of the pipe is confusing to me. It sounds more like a french drain than part of a real sewer system. Your local Health Department could answer that question. Doubt that it is legal.

So why did you wait so long to have it repaired? You could have taken that off the rent and have him take you to court if he didn't like it. And as for the dust heck did you ever notice how much dust comes off the toilet paper you use? Dust is getting to be a problem that's for sure I can believe the dust I breath in!! And as for concrete dust it is harmful and watering it down is the best way to get rid of it.

I'm not a health professional. I have heard that the silica from cement type or concrete mix is harmful. I dont know if you are saying there is a pile of concrete powder in your backyard or not. please see below for more info a lot of items that are commonly used in construction have something called a material safety data sheet (MSDS) that can outline the risks associated with using that product I was able to find some info on quickcrete using a google search but this depends on what you really have out there.
