you can research about Sikhs.they were wonderful warriors and made really heartrending sacrifices in the face of death but remained firm on their stand of religion.their history is really touching and their bravery is yet to be matched.
you can also write about independence fighters of any country
you can refer to fictional characters like Ivanhoe,Captain courageous,Three musketeers
