why would anyone stay in a marriage that they were unhappy in? If they did split, but not divorced. There isn't any child support, visitation rights. Someone would lose. The wife could keep the child and hold them from the father. The father would not help support his child. It would be a mess. That kid would need more counseling then it should when he/she is older.

WHY should divorce be illegal? Why don't you ask President Bush? He seems dead set on "protecting the sanctity" of marriage. He thinks that's going to happen by banning gay marriage. Wouldn't banning divorce make more sense? Noooo, the country would freak OUT if divorce was banned! I guess everybody feels more comfortable discriminating against gays. We'll call it "protecting the sanctity" of marriage so eveybody will go along with it. Ta-da!

Divorce cannot become illegal, otherwise people in abusive relationships cannot get out. Marriage should be harder to get into.

if i can't divorce my husband, then i would just have to kill him and i don't want to do that, then i would go to jail, see everyone all around gets hurt, so divorce is good ,good thing.........

Divorce is better than murder or suicide and that is why it is legal.

the kids that grow up expecting everything handed to them ! they also never learn to work cause daddy wasnt around to kick there a#$ when he should have been !
