Can anyone give me an idea if the process of reading a will, going through probate and dividing estate etc, is usually a long or quick process in Northern Ireland. Bearing in mind, will was straghtforward, property sold, only few bank accounts to empty. Many thanks

It should not take more than a few months, but remember that there are all sorts of people to deal with -- each bank and pension provider has to be written to separately with copies of the death certificate, each beneficiary has to be informed of the contents of the will, the income tax form has to be filled in and dispatched, a bank account has to be opened by the executor(s) and all the loose ends tied up, including any income tax owed by the deceased. If it is as straightforward as you say, then perhaps you are looking at a shortish period, but it doesn't do to rush things.

nicely, i'm an American and that i stay in the U. S. i be attentive to greater concerning the Irish situation than maximum individuals. i think of that if everybody in Northern eire had to hitch eire, then they might desire to interrupt off from the united kingdom little doubt. besides the fact that if, to my awareness there's a great Unionist/ Protestant/ Loyalist presence aswell, which makes the conflict greater exciting. At that factor, i think of that as lengthy as no person is rather getting harm or harmed, Northern eire ought to stay Northern eire. i don't be attentive to all the small print although, so as this is merely my opinion off the bat.
