ii tried in water w/toothpicks but it got all moldy

go to a fruit shop ; buy a pineapple cut the head off ( about 30 - 40 mm ) down the pineapple ; take to your garden bed ---plant it in full sun /part shade give it a good drink initially but then only once or twice a week if it is really hot otherwise once a month --- and you will have your own pineapple flowering and fruiting in around 18 months and you can then repeat the cycle with the head from your pineapple you've grown . good luck

My Mom does this all the time....I never got it but it's pretty cool. If you add an apple in the base of the soil near it....My mom says it will then grow fruit. Never tried it thought... Happy growing.
