My moment came at the hands of my 9 year old daughter.
She wanted me to take her on a picnic during the weekend and I initially told her "no" because I was planning to work all weekend on a project for "important clients".
The look in her eyes did it.
It had been building for a long time, but at that moment I finally realized I was: (1) working my butt off (2) at a job I hated (3) to try to impress people that I really didn't like (4) because they were basically mean.
It took awhile, but I found another job, with less stress and more time for my daughters, and for myself.
Of course, the transition was harder than it sounds, it took guts, and adjustments. I took a cut in salary. I drive a Ford, not a BMW, my vacations are driving to the moutains or the ocean and not flying to Europe. Its all in what matters to you.
What matters to me is that now, 5 years later, I am 25 pounds lighter, I have stopped smoking, stopped drinking (as much) and feel young again.
Good luck - best wishes for your future success. You will look back on your moment of clarity with satisfaction!!

Yes i have. When i first started to my job it was great and than they hired new people. they where so darn negative (and i believe that can cause so much stress). I went from being happy to not wanting to go to work. still i have bills to pay and no other job so i stayed. It got to the point where i was too stressed out. I went job hunting and finally did quit that job. you know people like drama and misery loves company. If it causes you that much stress i say work for yourself. It wont be easy, but it will make you so much happier. We all know that stress can wreck havoc on your body. No amount of money is worth that. No matter what you do, i wish you well.

You get to the point sometimes when you just have to ask yourself *Who do you think you are, treating me like that?* and decide they won't get away with it anymore. No-one has the right to make anyone else deliberately unhappy, it's bullying basically. I wish you luck with your chosen career and hope you get the happiness you deserve.

When I was a child in school I was a crybaby. When I was 10 I sat in front of the mirror and told my reflection. "This is enough!" After that I never cried in school again.
