wher do you live first of all. As someone who has been in the trucking industry for more than 15 years, i think that you are not being paid enough. its ok, but not that good. Do you have a clean record? Do you have experience?
I worked doing payroll for drivers so i knew what they made. Just curious...

Yes it is a good one to start. After all this is a new job too ... If you are looking for more money you could always try Canada.. Here in Alberta a truck driver starts alot higher.. we have a shortage of people to fill the jobs. Logging and Oilfield pay hugely.....Also if you can afford to be solo .. up here in the north there are extra perks for driving off-road, northern living allowance and so forth..
Here too there are truck driving jobs that don't pay well.. that's part of the reason why they are always advertising.

That's good money if they they pay all hours plus OT, I used to work for company that pay liked that but it was rip off cuz they switched to miles once you started driving but if you worked on the dock they paid you hourly so you better make sure you stay on the clock.

As a national average I'd say that's decent. Not spectacular, but decent.

$19.50 is minimum wage for living in America -- not well mind you.

A lot of people wish they were making that much. some make more,and still are not happy.

considering $5-$8 @ a restr.job (McD's or Walmart) that's pretty good, save/Bank!!! as much as you can, buckle up, & stay awake!!!
