I am not native (although here in Spain I pretend I am), but I passed the Proficiency and I´ve got a couple of years of experience teaching English, mainly children and teenagers.

The best place to ask this question is the Chinese Embassy. You haven't mentioned whether or not you already have this, but a well known cert for teaching English is ESOL: http://www.qca.org.uk/7423.html

Experience counts a lot. I've been teaching four years in Europe and I've heard that the English teaching jobs are going begging in China. I think you'll be teaching at the university level if you want. Heard the money's fantastic. Good luck!

There was a program I heard of when I was in college called ELIC. They would send people to China to teach for a summer or a year. They might have a website you can check out.

I heard the laws in China are very different from other countries. If the school does not pay you as promised, there is little you can do. I hope things are better now.
