Why not; it would be an achievement, a feather in the cap.
Going to moon is not a simple feat like going to local bazaar for shopping. It needs technological capabilities and such programmes would do just that- capacity building. The innovations and technological spin off from such programmes enriches knowledge base and provides efficient materials, equipments and appliances. Cluster phobia should not impede the quest to excel. New frontiers should always be explored and be exploited for improvement of quality of life and if need be, men or women will reach beyond moon. Being nearest to earth, moon has been the first choice so far for safe landing and returning capacity development. The quest and inquisitiveness in life forms is part of evolution and would continue unhindered along the time axis.

Yes. It is very important to establish your presence there. It will give you rights for the minerals and anything else found on the Moon. U.S.A. and Russia has not told the world what they have found there. Once China announced a manned mission to the moon, U.S.A. is sincerely thinking to send another manned mission. Why? Think about it. Soon India will establish her place in the modern and advance world. We must establish our territory.

Why to moon now ?
We have so many things to do, so many things to achieve.

As it is America's moon landing is a hoax.
There is no real proof that they went to moon in 1969.
We may have the technical capabilities to go to moon.
But we do not have that much money.
And world bank certainly would not finance it.

I don't think you need to worry about the moon being overcrowded any time soon! We haven't even started yet. You may not even be alive when it is actually "overcrowded."
