I hate the bundled WinTV2000 software and want to use something better. I've searched for some but they don't seem to support the stick.

There are no third party programs certified to work for that model at this time.
I would suggest considering Windows XP Media Center Edition.
I also own an Hauppauge product & the Media Center in Windows is an absolute joy to use. It requires no added software whatsoever for this TV tuner.... not even the one from Hauppauge.
