Frank R's suggestion might sound stupid, but to be quite honest when I tried selling various back-issues of Star Trek and Doctor Who titles (among others) at a car boot sale I didn't have one single taker, not even at 10p a title. Even when I placed a sign marked "Free" on the box rather than take them home, I struggled to find anyone willing to take them off my hands. In the end I wished I'd followed my first thought and donated them to the waiting room of my local doctor's surgery or to the hospital. I'm sure they wouldn't have turned decent free reading material down, no matter what the subject.
Specialist sci-fi dealers aren't likely to touch your magazines unless they are in really good or even "mint" condition. Even issue 1 of a certain magazine is not much good if it is well-read, dog-eared and in poor condition overall or missing the free gift or poster within. An advert in SFX may indeed be your best bet, but I doubt they are worth much. I threw all my old collection of TV Zone, SFX, etc. away. Hoarding them wasn't really worth the aggro - only the really early out of print versions that can't be ordered as back-issues will ever sell for any reasonable amount of money on eBay, or anything that has been autographed. Marvel/DC sci-fi comics on the other hand I do keep as they will hold their value better in the market than a generic sci-fi magazine.

some ideas...
go to a baseball card shop...they often have magazines...you can also sell them on ebay..look up their price first though....so you don't get had...
another idea are flea markets, antique shows, pennysaver free advertising (or inexspensive community papers)....
good luck!

Use the Internet to find comic stores in your area, call them up and see if they'll buy. It works (Sometimes)
