my speed is above but for some reason since i got my laptop 2 years ago its never gone higher than 56kb/s and probs 7kb/s upload ive changed service provider around 3 times now and ive got no spyware as far as i know anyone help me solve this problem please... thanx for looking

If you're using a dial up modem (56Kb max.), that's why. If you have Cable or DSL, call your Internet Service Provider and explain the problem to them.

They are there to resolve these kinds of issues at no charge.

When connected, hover your mouse curser over the little "2TV icon's" in the tray, and see the details. See: Speed XX.X Kbps this is connection speed in thousands of bits per second. Downloads are sized in bytes so you divide bits/9 = bytes. If you determine that the connection speed is much faster than the actual bytes per second realized then it could be your anti-virus software slowing things down, try disabling it for a test run and see what happens.

If your using dial-up then there you go. You have a 56kbs connection.

Have a friend bring their laptop over to your place and see how well it does on speedtest.
