Well, she took some of my answers;

I'm 40 too, and some of the other music from that time period includes Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones did some of their best work during those years;

If you're leaning more towards psychedelia, you have to include Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead and the Jefferson Airplane.

But if you want more hard rock, bands like Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath and Rush were formed in the early 70s.

And then there's Elton John, whose work from that era still holds up today. And Eric Clapton and his many groups: Derek and the Dominoes , the Yardbirds, Cream and Blind Faith. David Bowie also put out a varied catalog of works during that time.

If you want to mix in some funk and soul, there's Sly & the Family Stone, the Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Parliment Funkadelic

Softer sounds from Carole King and James Taylor

Oh man! I can't decide what's my favorite band because I love everyone of the bands. Like The Beach Boys, Earth Wind & Fire, Billy Joel, The Beatles, The Doors, Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Heart, Bee Gees, The Archies, The Association, Herman's Hermits, Andy Kim, Wild Cherry, and tons and tons more. I made a CD called Disco Fever if you want to make one for you. Just e-mail me and I'll give the songs.

They all listed the good songs...How are you gonna do it? Pass out a piece of paper with a song to the woman and then the groups to the men and make them match them??? That could be interesting.
