I'm not aware of any yearly injection but you can get implants (implanon) which can last for up to 5 years or a coil fitted which can last up to 5 years!

Did you know that modern natural family planning is over 99% effective, has no side effects, no long term effect on your health and fertility, and is immediately reversible when you do decide to start a family? It is also FREE!

I had a contraceptive implant inserted into my arm last year. it lasts for 3 years and I have found it amazing. might be worth you trying to find out what availability there is for you in America, its called implanon and I have added the link below.

p.s. don't know how much you would have to pay for it, we get contraception free in the UK.

I think it is every 3 months...but I had bad side affects
headaches
frequent and irregular bleeding
mood swings
my friend had problems to although slightly different than mine
check it all out!
