Is this true?

When something is bitter to taste, it is good for the system?..... i have heard this to be true what is your take on it?

grape fruit is bitter and its great for makin you go to the toilet when in need and in turn makes you lose weight, :)

Yes its true...because there are loads of herbal things which are bitter to taste and they say it is good for your system! all sorts of medicines, they're nearly all bitter!
But some sweet things can also be good too...

Not necessarily, if you are in the wilderness gathering wild edibles. Some plants have a natural defense against being eaten by wildlife. Bitter can be a sign of toxicity in this case.

not nessecarily at all.

generally we evolved to to like the taste of good things and dislike the taste of bad things as a reward system for eating good things. of course this falls down since fat and sugar tastes good, but in an energy poor world of hunting and gathering you would want to eat all the fat you could get.

basically if it tastes bad there is probably a reason for it, but thats just a very very general rule of thumb.

I don't know if it's true, but mauby is bitter, when it has not been sweetened and it's supposedly good to help clean you out and also good for you skin.
