I like to play music loud.
My neighbours don't like me much, but I don't do it very often.
Nothing better than feeling the bass pounding in your chest!

i love my music loud, but not so loud it shakes the car. that makes it sound worse if you ask me. but, i've had ringing in my ears for 10 years now. it isn't usually that bad, but it can get annoying. i also have trouble understand some people talk if their voice falls into a certain range. and it is getting worse, but not because of music alone, i also work in a loud environment where i have to wear ear plugs.
like the first poster said, try to take care of your hearing. cause once it's going, it'll never be the same. you want to be able to hear the music as it's meant to be heard in 20 years still, and not just be able to hear parts because your ear is damaged

As an Audiologist AND Music lover I have to say that it is difficult to balance the two. I have been to many concerts and used to crank the car stereo pretty loud. But as a tinnitus sufferer (constant ringing in my ears that grows progressively louder as I age), and having seen noise damage in the hearing results of people in their teens, 20s, and 30s - I have to say that moderation is best.

You may enjoy the rush that the booming bass gives you and the fun of singing at the top of your lungs, but you will NOT enjoy having difficulty understanding what your friends and family are saying within a couple decades if you keep it up. I had a 40-something patient a couple months back who was in tears because she has difficulty hearing her young child when he speaks to her.

I have another patient in his 30s who can't sleep because the ringing in his ears is so loud -- and the lack of sleep has been going on for so long that the residual effects of poor concentration and irritability have him unable to hold a job or participate in many of the activities he normally enjoys.

We take our hearing for granted -- you truly don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. The new advances in technology and greater acceptance of hearing aids have helped many of these relatively young people compensate, but it still isn't the same thing as having 2 normally functioning ears.

I play my music loud in the car, when I'm on the highway. It doesn't bother anyone there. There's always headphones too.
