You helped me but didnt get driver fixed so
here is some info about my driver if you can help me.
It is LG cd rom -drive not a dvd drive it is not a burner . then it has model:crd-8400B(MI) it was made in january 2000. then it has somthing like this s/n:001E)48801 Then has this Rom VER.1.06 hope this is the infor needed to fix my drive p lease help me.

windows xp and this is a new one janurary 2000 well old but it worked fine ok here is the true story i got this one and put it in with old cd drive my old cd drive eventually got messed up so i replaced it with the new one and pluged it in as the master and my computer doesnt detect it.

its more easy to buy a new drive then finding driver for a old drive.

If it is set as "Master" make sure it is not on the same IDE cable as your hard drive.
- it must be on it's own cable & conneted to the secondary IDE channel on the motherboard.

you can buy new cd roms for about $30-$50 au.
it might be easier to buy a new one.
