Jiya ask your friend to stay cool and stop treating stammering as a problem. your friend stammers sometimes and i am a huge stammer myself so i know he/she is lucky that it doesnt happen with him all the time.
Coming to the point. I have given uncountable presentation in my Masters (Commerce) and CA. Even i am preparing my matter for the presentation on 22nd of march on Macro Economics (M.Phil). It all depends on your mind, if you start thinking about the problem, the problem with get the better of you. Ask him not to think about stammering. When i asked myself, few times back, why i think about stammering when i talk? the answer was, because i wanted to hide this from other people. Afterwards i realised that you should not care about people. People who would appreciate you if were not a stammerer, will appreciate you with this problem and if someone wants to make fun of you, he/she will do it even when you do not stammer, so stop thinking about it.

If stammering is the case with you, just live with it. There are many famous personalities who are living their happy lives with this problem, so just stop thinking about it when you speak.

Secondly, be confident and consider audience as novice. When you start thinking that i might speak wrong or people knows better than me, the problem arises. Assume yourself as president of USA when you are speaking infront of audience.

Another tip is to speak louder, it developes a lot of confidence in you. Try using audio visual tools (black board, white board, charts or OHP). This allows you to have pauses in between, when you can rearrange your thoughts and cleverly you can break eye contact. It also gives additional points to your presentation.

Prepare the matter for your presentation of such quality that can give you confidence. Take small paper with you and write headlines of the important topics that you are going to present. remember do not write full material on the pages as it gives negative effect to the judges and audiences.

I hope this will help your friend in delivering the first presentation in is life.

U can rehearse the presentation with her at home the previous evening and wish her good luck.
Do be present for the presentation to encourage her.

Are you going to be there? If you are, have your friend keep eye contact with you and act as if she is giving the presentation to you and you alone. If you are not going to be there, suggest to her that she find someone there that she can make eye contact with.

Ask him to write down his presentation. Remember it by heart. Speak in front of a mirror and then in front of you. God bless him.

this problem is not that simple as it sounds, your friend clearly manifests signs of low self-esteem and confidence, though stammering could be both heriditary/genetic as well as rooted in low confidence.

Stammering hitch-i dont think can be solved as such, either you see a speech therapist or speak slowly or simple just ignore it!

now as for the next thing which resembles stage fright or speaking in public-i already mentioned that its due to lack of confidence..Ask your friend to indulge in meditation and to convince himself by "i can do it!".."i can do it" so either he has to help himself or seek help of counsellor.

Encourage your friend, give her some courage. When she's presenting sit somewhere where she can see you so that it will look like your friend is talking to you. Making her feel comfortable.

Practice, practice, practice and practice. Haven't you heard practice makes a man perfect. Encouage him/her to master the subject and create all possible questions on that subject and let him/her learn the answer.
