sometimes people seem to get depressed for no obvious reason. In these cases, it may be that something that hurt deeply some time ago (even years ago) begins to surface now. Although this is perplexing and just as distressing, this process is not uncommon. Sometimes, though, the onset of depression seems to be caused by nothing in particular and can be the result of chemical or hormonal changes affecting our body
the distinction between feeling 'down' and being depressed is one of both degree and duration; i.e. low mood becomes problematic when it is frequent, persistent and begins to affect our work, relationships, social activities and self-esteem. Depression includes a persistent low mood and loss of interest or pleasure in life - it also commonly involves:

Do you mean sad or depressed? There's a huge difference.
Sad= when things get too much.
Depressed= as above but feel it will never change but will get worse and can't be escaped.
Comfortably numb by Pink Floyd.
Time away by Paul Kossof
I don't well in sadness now as that leads to depression. If I have tears to cry, I do so and get on with my life. If not, I just get on with my life. It's been my cure to depression fro the last 7 or 8 years - don't sit around thinking about it, don't drink or take drugs, do stuff which stimulates the mind.

Depression can be caused by many things in life. I like to listen to any thing that as a happy tune, something to make me smile.

Because when we are little we have a view of the world and how perfect it is,all beautiful, seeing no bad, evil, stress, our parents protect us,take total care of us,etc. Then we grow up,lol. Music doesnt make me feel better,if I have a problem,it's there whether I listen to music or not, I DO love music though.

I wish I knew what caused it. We allow these feelings to be created in us.
I love music. Lots of songs lift my spirits. Happy, upbeat songs.
My current favorite is by Three Days Grace.

I get depressed because I have low serotonin levels in my brain.
Too many songs to even list.

Not entirely sure. I know that I have quite a few nasty "schemas" that distort my view of events. Fluoxetine and a happy girlfriend help.
Sometimes music makes me anxious! Silence is my favourite tune.
