I don't think there was a sequel, but have a look at the link maybe it will jog a memory or two.

There was never a "Day of the Triffids - Part 2"; well not by John Wyndham anyway. Someone called Simon Clarke wrote a supposed follow-up entitled "Night of the Triffids" but the word "Triffid" is about as close as he gets to Wyndham - the rest is 100% turkey. You'll regret buying it - unless you intend to use it as kindling :o)
Wyndham's next book was "The Kraken Wakes".
Apart from Triffids he is probably most well known for "The Midwich Cuckoos", which you may know better as the movie(s) "Village of the Damned".
If you liked Triffids I'm pretty sure you'll like the rest. I first read them all as a teenager, which is more than a year or two ago.
Check Wikipedia for a full list of titles. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
I just read Soldablue's answer and wanted to say he forgot to mention Isaac Asimov :o)

As far as I know, there was no sequel. Wyndham wrote other books, their only relation to each other is the author himself. I personally would rather read other writers from his time. Ray Bradbury, Brian Aldiss, Michael Moorcock, Arthur C Clarke, Phillip K Dick, Cecelia Holland and Norman Spinrad were/are all writers that expanded the horizons of believable science fiction/fantasy.
